COLUMNS & INTEVIEUWS Fred van der Vaart
Fred: hello sir,, welcome to the Netherlands
We know you come here of-ten and rest of Europe,, why?
Andy: because we love the public and big crowds and at some as we had here,, people know our music and sing along, in Canada its different,, and sometimes we have to drive 10 hours for one gig of 30 minutes,,
Here it’s easier,, you can make 4 gigs on one day if wanted,
Fred: when did you came up with the idea of making this kind of music so differ-ent from Country music, but music for all people and to do it with this trio Sheesham & lotus’n son?
Andy: many years ago I played music and even some Gospel and when I was at a venue I saw the guys performing and this was the time to meetup and see if we can do something together.
Fred: wow, well I can say it’s a HIT ,, in the Nether-lands we saw you all a few times on Bluegrass festivals and many liked your music,
But why the sound of the 1920’s?
Andy: I always loved older music and I was announced as best Country music sing-er songwriter of Canada so I had to think of something special and getting the know the boys of Sheesham,, it was easy to try with there lovely in-struments and the way they improvise .
Fred: and for the boys,, you play long time as trio,, and always same settings?
The boys, well Fred, we have the setting few years as Sheesham , lotus and son and we love to play old-time Appalachian sound music and we are glad we have someone with us who carved a nice breathing into our lives on stage with his Sousaphone, bass,
Harmonica’s vocals and many other improvising
Instruments ---
( YouTube ) and thanks to the lady Annie who took over for the violin because Teilhard was
Needed somewhere else and to play as a full mem-ber and with Andy and his wonderful writing experi-ences we made this record-ings of Hezakiah proctor and new character,
Andy:it took 10 years in the making for this project of the complete recordings of Hezekiah proctor,, and we made 29 recordings for the album.
Fred: yes it’s a big record-ing and I saw its done also on Vinyl and CD and I saw a Novel next to it,,, are you a writer to?
Andy: I write songs and try to make good music for everyone and this is my Debut novel about this per-son Hezakiah Proctor and his story in the 1920-30’s and the makings of the mu-sic and history. The upcom-ing of unions and fights against the rich and com-panies, and a Biography to.
After we made the music and songs we recorded them with Sheesham & lo-tus’n son
and the old time band the ever lovin’ jug band (YouTube)
and do some Gospel, early jazz, blues, and country kind of music as they were
recorded on the 78 rpm
vinyl records those days.
Fred: Wow,, and as you all say and show on stage- we are in for a treat.
As a great performance with harmony violin,
Banjo, sousaphone and many more as a theater traveling around the world.

explaning and short inter-view so you can go and sell your cd and records to the fans here at the Wild Roost-er festival.
